Megan Pattwell is a senior specialist dietitian at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she works in the Senior Adult Oncology Programme, a multidisciplinary service supporting older adults undergoing cancer treatment. She provides expert nutritional assessments and tailored dietary interventions to help optimise treatment outcomes, maintain independence, and improve quality of life for people aged 65 and over living with cancer.

Alongside her clinical work, Megan is an emerging researcher in oncology nutrition. She completed a predoctoral fellowship in 2025 and is now working towards a doctorate. She is the lead author of a systematic review examining nutritional interventions for the treatment of sarcopenia in older adults with cancer. She has also completed a clinical trial exploring changes in body composition during systemic anti-cancer treatment. Her research reflects her particular interest in the effects of nutrition on physical function, treatment tolerance, and healthy ageing in cancer care. She regularly presents her work at national and international study days and conferences.

In addition to her role at The Royal Marsden, Megan works regularly with the World Cancer Research Fund. She is also an Allied Health Professional member of the International Society of Geriatric Oncology and serves on the committees of the British Dietetic Association’s Oncology Prehabilitation Sub-Group and Older Adults Specialist Group.
